Rumours in Vicenza fair suggested that green would be the colour for this 2018 and we took it quite seriously.
Green to us sounds like a good choice and "Green & Natural" could very easily become our Manifesto.
It is true that the favourite gem of the moment is undoubtedly emerald...windows of Gems traders in Vicenza were full of emeralds in different sizes, quality and cut.
Emerald is a fascinating gem so rich in hues and shades and with the typical "jardin" inside , inclusions and fissures with a mossy appearance. It is the king for sure in our precious garden of colour stones!
A few notes about it: Emerald is a variety of beryl , with a hardness of 7.5/8 in the Mohs scale so a delicate gem, much more delicate than His Majesty and Emperor the Diamond.
Colombia is by far the world's largest producer of emeralds, constituting 50–95% of the world production, with the number depending on the year, source and grade. Emerald production in Colombia has increased drastically in the last decade, increasing by 78% from 2000 to 2010. Rare "trapiche" emeralds are found in Colombia, distinguished by ray-like spokes of dark impurities.
Last year we have been proposing our Ellaz line with rough emeralds and it has been a "must have" during the Winter Campaign .....in our BRUSI style so on pink gold and white diamonds all around...
ELLAZ Pink gold with white diamonds and emerald
...and also proposed a spectacular Saffron ring with a large emerald as central stone and again white diamonds around , treated with black rodium to give a touch of BRUSI again. Thus resulting to be a piece for a Gala event or a night at the Opera but also something to wear more easily with an every-day outfit. We always imagine our jewels as accompanying us in the different moments of the day. We should feel confident to wear them all the time, never feeling that something is wrong or not fitting the situation.
If we wanted to be green this time it should be noted instead that we are NATURAL all the times, this meaning that our jewels reject simmetry, geometry and manipulation of all sorts. Our lines are smooth and irregular just like the sloping of the hills and our colours are soft and undefined just like the marvellous colours of Nature. BRUSI jewels shouldn't be worn to "show off" but to feel good and bright.
BRUSI ....Natural Jewels! See you next time!!!
It's one of the first shapes we design as kids and it's a shape of perfect simplicity. It's also one of our new lines and subject of today's newsletter.
Circle is a line of earrings, bracelets and necklaces in satinated gold with just a dash of diamonds, brown or grey.
It's an easy to wear line, precious but not too shiny, something we can really wear every day. It's what we define "sober elegance" , our way of interpreting elegance.
Also it has much to do with our idea of "natural jewels" : nothing too much artificially constructed but softly-unrolling fluid lines proposed in basic, natural colours.
Here is the bracelet in pink brushed gold and brown diamonds.
A perfect Christmas gift ! 😊
For the lovers of white gold instead we are presenting the earrings: here in white brushed gold and grey diamonds . Pink or white ? a difficult choice indeed......and think that yellow is also possible !
The earrings in this line are available in different sizes and combinations ......which is your favourite one?
Natural elements are a precious source of Inspiration for us in Brusi, our jewels being the product of a creative process where Nature is the starting point.
We present today our Moony ring and these beautiful Lady earrings in their Autumn dress.
The ring is in rose' gold, brown diamonds and a wonderful natural sapphire ....incredible tones that only Nature is able to provide.
Let the images speak by themselves accompanied by this poem by Adelaide Crapsey "November Night" which we really love.
In Vicenzaoro September it was the time to present our brand new Collections:
"Cannella Gold", " The Bends" and "Circle".
All of them are featuring a massive return to Gold and for us it is a real New Attitude.
Keeping loyal to the BRUSI mood and sensibility the Lines have been constructed around this idea of Gold as the central and out-breaking element.
The Lines have been presented in White, Pink and - new glamorous option of the season - Yellow Gold.
Not only in the polished version but also in a matt, strongly powerful, not treated version.
The Must of the season we would say is Natural White Gold, not treated at all, only brushed to keep it materic and primitive, completely Natural like the BRUSI jewels are.
And Natural as it is it will last forever, never changing, pure and essential.
Vicenza has been a Great moment, perfect for us to present the new Lines and get an immediate feedback from our customers. Our efforts have been well rewarded since the feedback was good and encouraging us to proceed.
We would like to thank our clients, friends and supporters for their affection.
There is nothing for us like the shimmering eyes of the female public when trying any of our jewels, saying much more than a thousand words.
Vicenza is over now and we are now working on the Christmas campaign.

If you feel like knocking off your shoes and laying down on a sandy beach under a blue summer sky thinking of sun bathing until dawn ....well this is the newsletter for you 😊
Summer is here and vacations quickly approaching so why not spending these 10 minutes imagining to be transported on the spot to some different place, a place smelling, breathing and looking like "our summer dream".
And more specifically our summer dream, topic of the present newsletter is ....Martha's Vineyard.
Martha's Vineyard is a Massachusetts island, just in front of Cape Cod, not too far away from New York , only accessible by boat or air. The island was settled by the English in the 1600’s but it was already a thriving Native American trade center when the Mayflower landed in Plymouth; it’s been a popular summer resort since the 1800’s.
There are six little towns, old picket-fenced cemeteries from before the American Revolution filled with beautiful stone grave markers, sandy beaches, miles of bumpy dirt roads, charming architecture in tree-lined neighborhoods, lighthouses, gray-weathered fishing shacks, wildflower-studded meadows, lakes, ponds, woods to walk in, harbors filled with schooners and cat boats, old farm houses in rolling pastures bordered by lichen-covered rock walls, all surrounded by sunsets and water which are never the same two days in a row. It’s very easy to “go back in time,” the quiet village streets are of another era, and church bells ring as they’ve done here forever.
And if you need some more reasons to fall in love with the Vineyard here you have a few:
It’s soooo quiet.
There are no traffic lights-just stop signs.
The top speed limit is 45 mph.
There is no fast food.
Fresh seafood abounds.
Dirt roads leading to secluded spots.
Sheep grazing in green fields on bluffs perched above the sea
Elegant buildings from the 1700 and 1800’s.
A slower pace.
Is it enough ? For us Martha's Vineyard is a perfect BRUSI place , a place where nature is still very much around making us feel good, healthy and relaxed.
This is our beautiful Indjo ring set with a blue faceted tanzanite and white diamonds on satinated natural white gold. Indjo is one of our most successful lines, almost an iconic piece for Brusi.
The ring is easy to wear and full of personality, reminding classic jewellery and still keeping the distance from the classic patterns of high jewellery.
Details that make the difference are the not perfectly regular oval shape of the tanzanite and the finishing of gold which is kept in its natural colour and matt brushed by our talented goldsmiths.
Tanzanite is a popular gem nowadays but...how much do you really know about it?
We checked it out for you. See what was found out.
Tanzanite is the blue/violet variety of the mineral zoisite. It was discovered by Manuel d'Souza in the Mererani Hills of Manyara Region in Northern Tanzania in 1967, near the city of Arusha and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Scientifically called "blue zoisite", the gemstone was renamed as tanzanite by Tiffany & Co., who wanted to capitalize on the rarity and single location of the gem, and thought that "blue zoisite" (which might be pronounced like "blue suicide") wouldn't sell well. Tiffany's original campaign advertised that tanzanite could now be found in two places: "in Tanzania and at Tiffany's".
From 1967, an estimated two million carats of tanzanite were mined in Tanzania before the mines were nationalized by the Tanzanian government in 1971.
So eventually after 1971 tanzanite was not belonging to Tiffany only anymore!
Something else I was not prepared to find out is the fact that in its rough state tanzanite is reddish brown, not blue or blue/violet as we normally see it when mounted in jewellery sets, basically requiring a heating treatment to bring out the blue violet of the stone.
Since heat treatment is universal, it has no effect on price, and finished gems are assumed to be heat-treated. Gemological Institute of America states that the source of heating is gemologically undetectable, but is assumed because of its prevalence.
This telling us that tanzanite is always heat- treated.
We found this very interesting “Tanzanite Journey” , we leave you with the link and some pictures that have been touching us very deeply.
Next time you will be visiting a jewellery shop you will look at tanzanite with different eyes, we are pretty sure of this. And we will be buying it with different eyes too.
Yes , remember...
Lush blue velvet. Rich royal purple. Exotic tanzanite is found in only one place on earth, near majestic Kilimanjaro.
After leaving Tanzania and Kilimanjaro it is cut mainly in Jaipur (India) and then sold all around the world to jewellery manufacturers and collectors.
Here above some declinations of tanzanite jewellery in a pure BRUSI style.
Are they still attracted to Jewels?
And why should they buy jewels when there is a wide offer of costume jewellery at very affordable prices?
For us simply the question does not exist. People have always been attracted to jewels and they will always be because – as simple as this might sound - they are beautiful and we feel attracted to beautiful things just because they can give us pleasure.
It doesn't matter if it is a landscape, a piece of art or a jewel ...still we will experience a moment of pleasure thus gratifying ouserlves in the deep.
When we buy a jewel we pamper ouserselves or the person to whom the jewel will go.
It is nothing more than this.
So why should we buy jewels? Here some of the possible reasons:
To us these reasons are more than enough. What are you expecting? Go and find the Jewel for you or for your beloved one!!!!
We can give you some suggestions though...bisous...kisses...besos...küssen!!!!!
